In its 23rd year of foundation, the VNU has admitted Leuphana University Lüneburg as its ninth member. During the General Meeting on 23 June 2017 in Lübeck, the presidents and rectors signed a corresponding addendum to the cooperation agreement.
In addition to the German universities: University of Bremen, University of Greifswald, University of Hamburg, Kiel University, University of Lübeck, University of Oldenburg and the University of Rostock, the network also includes the University of Groningen as an associate member.
The key objectives of the cooperation are to improve teaching and learning in the member universities and further develop the quality culture within the network; to create a joint discussion forum on current developments and perspectives in higher education policy in a cross-state context; to establish a supra-regional research network; and to intensify the exchange of research initiatives.
During the General Meeting on 23 June 2017 in Lübeck, the President of the new member, Prof. (HSG) Dr. Sascha Spoun, signed a corresponding addendum to the VNU cooperation agreement.
